BlobFest2007

 

     BlobFest 2007 is scheduled for July 13th through 14th at the beautiful Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA!

 

     This summer marks the 50th anniversary of the filming of The Blob at the folks at the Colonial Theatre are putting into motion some plans to specially mark the occasion.

 

     First off, many of the traditional BlobFest activities will be back this year including the Running Out Re-enactment, the Scream Contest, Costume Contest, Fire Extinguisher Parade and, of course, multiple screenings of The Blob! Additionally, there will be two new contests this year- The Tin Foil Hat Competition and The Backyard B-Movie Blob Bonanza!

 

     As per BlobFest tradition, several other 1950s sci-fi classics will screen. This year joining The Blob on screen will be the 1960 classic Angry Red Planet, starring Gerald Mohr (star of the classic radio series "The Adventures of Philip Marlow") and Les Tremayne and the 1956 Japanese camp classic Warning From Space, which features giant starfish aliens attacking Tokyo.

 

 

 

BLOBFEST SCHEDULE

 

Friday, July 13

 

7:00 - BlobFest kicks off with Running Out Re-enactment Revelry with live music provided by The Rivers, the TinFoil Hat Contest, Scream Contest, Blob short film winners screened and much, Much MORE!!!

 

 

Saturday, July 14

 

11:30 - Street Fair opens

 

Noon - Winner of the Scream Contest starts the annual Fire Extinguisher Parade.

 

12:30 - Costume Contest

 

1:00 - Panel Discussion with The Blob's producer Jack Harris, Blob screenwriter Kate Phillips (Kay Linaker), Kris Yeahworth (son of Blob director Shorty Yeaworth) and Maryann DiCarlo, the gal immortalized for falling during the "running out" scene at the Colonial Theater!

 

2:00 - The Blob screening

 

3:30 - Angry Red Planet screening

 

5:00 - The Blob screening

 

6:30 - Amateur Film Contest winners screened

 

8:00 - Late Night Creature Feature- The Blob and Message From Space
